Clarion Housing Tenant Appointed Leading Housing Disrepair Solicitor Following Housing Disrepair Helpline Visit
Housing Disrepair Helpline visited a Clarion Housing property this week after concerns were raised about an ongoing water leak, mould growth and problems with the property’s kitchen units.
Following the visit, Housing Disrepair Helpline has appointed the tenant with a leading housing disrepair solicitor to investigate the reported disrepair and help the tenant take action to get the outstanding problems resolved.
The tenant’s name and address have been withheld to protect their privacy.
Water Leak and Mould at Clarion Housing Property
The property is a two-bedroom high-rise home managed by Clarion Housing. The information supplied to Housing Disrepair Helpline identifies problems affecting the bathroom and kitchen, including mould growth and a water leak.
There is an ongoing water leak reportedly coming from a service pipe above the bathroom. The water has affected the bathroom light and spread into an adjoining kitchen cupboard, where mould growth is visible.
The leak is reported to have started at the beginning of September 2026.
Problems With Kitchen Cupboards
There are also longstanding problems with the kitchen units at the Clarion Housing property.
According to the information provided to Housing Disrepair Helpline, a set of kitchen cupboards is misaligned and cannot be closed properly. Drawers have also been replaced with mismatched units which do not sit correctly on their tracks. The problems with the kitchen cupboards are reported to date back to 2024.
Tenant Reports Contacting Clarion Housing Six Times
Workers have attended the property to inspect the problems, with the most recent attendance recorded as 9 September. The tenant states that they were told there was no funding available and that they could carry out the work themselves. Two drawers had previously been replaced.
The tenant estimates that Clarion Housing has been contacted six times during the period of disrepair and reports having text messages and emails relating to the problems.

The solicitor can investigate the history of the problems, the reports made to Clarion Housing, previous repair attempts and what further action may be available to secure the necessary repairs and pursue compensation where appropriate.
Housing Disrepair Helpline has helped more than 25,000 tenants get their homes fixed and obtain compensation over the last 11 years.
Why Using a Claims Management Company Can Benefit a Claimant
Using a Claims Management Company (CMC) such as Housing Disrepair Helpline can benefit a housing disrepair claimant because Claims Management Companies can have many different solicitor firms on their panel, specialising in different types of housing disrepair issues.
Housing disrepair cases can differ significantly. One tenant may be experiencing damp and mould, while another may be dealing with water leaks, defective plumbing, structural problems, broken heating, defective windows or other repair issues.
Having access to multiple specialist firms means that a Claims Management Company such as Housing Disrepair Helpline can consider the particular circumstances and disrepair affecting a tenant when appointing a solicitor from its panel.
For this Clarion Housing tenant, Housing Disrepair Helpline has now appointed a leading housing disrepair solicitor to investigate the case and help the tenant take the next steps towards getting the outstanding problems resolved and pursuing compensation where appropriate.
