Clarion Leaseholder Seeks Help After Cracks Appear and Continue to Grow at Property
Housing Disrepair Helpline visited a Clarion property this week after concerns were raised about cracking which is reportedly appearing and worsening at the home.
The property is a one-bedroom, first-floor flat, and the assessment identifies Clarion as the landlord/freeholder. The resident is a leaseholder and has lived at the property since 2002.
Growing Cracks Reported at Clarion Property
During Housing Disrepair Helpline’s assessment, concerns were raised about cracks appearing in the bedroom.
According to the information provided, the resident has noticed that the cracks are getting bigger every week, with new cracks also reportedly appearing. Cracking can also be seen on an exterior wall. The problems were reported as having first appeared in June 2026.
Given the reported progression of the cracking, the resident is understandably seeking assistance to establish what is causing the problem and what work may be required.
Clarion Contacted More Than 15 Times
The assessment records that the resident has contacted Clarion more than 15 times regarding the problem.
Despite these repeated reports, the resident says that only one person has attended the property to take photographs of the cracks and that no further action had been taken at the time of Housing Disrepair Helpline’s assessment. The resident also reports having evidence of contacting Clarion about the issue.
Housing Disrepair Helpline Appoints Leading Housing Disrepair Solicitor
Following its visit this week, Housing Disrepair Helpline has appointed the Clarion resident with a leading housing disrepair solicitor to investigate the circumstances and advise on the next steps.
The resident’s name and address have deliberately not been published in order to protect their privacy.
Housing Disrepair Helpline has helped more than 25,000 tenants and residents over the last 11 years to get their homes fixed and obtain compensation.
Benefits of Using a Claims Management Company
Using a Claims Management Company (CMC) such as Housing Disrepair Helpline can benefit a claimant because a CMC can work with a panel of different solicitor firms that specialise in different types of housing disrepair cases.
Housing problems can vary significantly. Cases may involve damp and mould, water penetration, defective windows, roofing problems, structural concerns, cracking or combinations of several different defects.
Having access to a number of specialist firms means Housing Disrepair Helpline can consider the particular circumstances of a case and appoint a solicitor with relevant experience for the issues being reported.
In this case, Housing Disrepair Helpline has appointed a leading housing disrepair solicitor to assist the Clarion resident and investigate the reported cracking and Clarion’s response to the problem.
